When the body has been specifically supported for the task of pregnancy and birth, the body is primed for an easier and smoother transition into postpartum and for recovery.

“Diksha is an amazingly talented and experienced doula who is both treasured and admired within the birthing community. It has been an absolute gift to witness the impressive combination of her soothing voice and magic hands as she serves each unique family. She knows how to give just the right amount of support and guidance, from the questioning days of pregnancy to the most challenging moments of labor. Regardless of your own personal vision for your birth, Diksha has the skills and wisdom to support your family throughout this journey of family life.”    ~ Rhonda Grantham, Midwife

I was born and raised in Germany. After years of traveling, I fell in love with both the beauty of the Northwest and my husband, Jerry. I have lived in the U.S since 2001 and in 2006, I relocated with my family to Olympia, WA.
During my own pregnancies, I was thankful for the wise presence of a birth doula as I prepared for my own birth experiences. After the birth of my two children, born in 2005 & 2008, I discovered my true calling as a birth professional.

Since 2008, I have been actively serving the birthing community. I bring a 10 year background as a massage therapist and Reiki Master, experienced in multiple healing arts.  By bridging my prior experience with continual education, I strive to provide holistic support throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding.

I am a Certified Doula through both Doulas of North America (DONA) and a Certified Holistic Doula from The Matrona. I have pursued additional training as a Certified Placenta Specialist, Certified Lactation & Breastfeeding Educator, and Certified Instructor of Infant Massage.

I pride myself on being a solo practice doula, committed to developing a personal relationship based on trust, comfort, and familiarity with each unique family's birth plan.  I feel that this one-on-one relationship is a key element to providing the exact support your family needs during the most joyous and vulnerable moments of pregnancy and birth.

I feel extremely committed to professional integrity.  I provide each family the reassurance that a trusted and experienced back-up doula is available in the event of an emergency.  However, even though I am appreciative of this back-up, also know that I have been the doula in attendance for my clients nearly 100% of the time in the past 13 years.

As a leader in the birth community, I am also the founder of the “Olympia Doula Circle,” “Meet the Doula Night,” and the “Monthly Olympia Cesarean & VBAC Support Group.”
